Chapter Leadership
As students move from elementary school to middle and high school, they go with a significant foundation in the arts. The Orff Curriculum can be recognized in all aspects of the arts in the secondary school offerings. At this time, 23% of the elementary students select elective music classes in Grades 6-12. This is double the average in the United States. Parents will recognize these secondary musical events in their community:

-
Intermediate and Advanced Choral Festivals
-
Concert, Marching, and Jazz Band Festivals
-
String and Orchestra Festivals
-
Steel Drums
-
Mariachi Groups
-
School, Community, and International Performances
-
Parade Participation
-
Events, Competitions, and Performances through
-
National Association for Music Education
-
and the American Choral Directors Association

Students will also have many choices in art, drama, dance, and communications. Graphic arts, journalism, and specific classes and themes which have their roots in the Orff Curriculum will be offered.
Las Vegas has a rich history of expression of the arts in the community. This is especially evident on the Las Vegas Strip. Students can relate their elementary experiences to what they see and hear in the community.
